'JACKS RETURN TO NACOGDOCHES, HOST BEARS: The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks return to Homer Bryce Stadium Saturday, after a month-long three-game road swing that has seen stops at SMU, No. 3 Montana State and Texas State. The 'Jacks' first home game, since the Aug. 30th season opener, has SFA facing Central Arkansas in a Southland Conference opener. The Bears are 3-1 (.750) overall, and 1-0 in the Southland Conference play. UCA enters the game having won three staight, including a 24-0 victory over No. 2 Sam Houston State. Saturday's game is slated to kick off at 6 p.m. The game will also serve as SFA's Parents' Weekend.

SFA vs. THE BEARS: Central Arkansas leads the all-time series, 4-2 (.667), over the Lumberjacks. SFA has won two of the last three meetings in the series, but are coming off a 10-point setback (38-28) last season in Conway. The 'Jacks are 1-2 (.333) all-time against UCA in Nacogdoches. The lone victory was a 30-7 decision during the 2010 decision.

SFA IN SOUTHLAND CONFERENCE OPENERS: The Lumberjacks are 15-10 (.600) all-time in Southland Conference opening games, but are coming off a 38-28 setback at Central Arkansas last season. The 'Jacks have won five of their last seven conference openers. J.C. Harper is 3-2 (.600) in conference opening games.

SFA in PARENTS' WEEKEND GAMES: The Lumberjacks are 19-10 (.655) in Parents' Weekend games dating back to 1983. SFA has won two of the last three Parents' Weekend games, but are coming off a 35-26 setback to Texas State last season.

ATTA BOY ATTAWAY: With all the attention being placed on the receiving records falling at SFA, junior Brady Attaway's climb up the list of all-time great quarterbacks has gone nearly unnoticed. Attaway completed 44 passes at Texas State, and with his 39th completion of the night he moved into fifth-place all-time at SFA surpassing Wes Pate.

SLC RECORD BOOKS: Senior Cordell Roberson became the SFA, and Southland Conference's all-time leader in touchdown receptions at Texas State. He finished the night with two TD catches and now has 33 for his career. He surpassed James Noble on the school list, and Simmie Yarborough (Southeastern Louisiana) on the conference list.

ANOTHER CHART TOPPER: Junior Brady Attaway completed 44 passes against Texas State, which is one of the best single-game performances in school history. The 44 completions lists second all-time behind Jeremy Moses' 57 completions at Sam Houston State in 2008. The 57-completion performance set an NCAA single-game record.

THE COACHES: J.C. Harper became the 18th head coach of the SFA Lumberjack football team in December 2006. A two-time SLC Coach of the Year, Harper has guided SFA to two conference titles and NCAA playoff appearances. He is 30-33 (.476) in his sixth season as a head coach. Central Arkansas head coach Clint Conque is 92-52 (.639) in his 13th season in Conway. Conque has coach the Bears through the transition from the Division II level to NCAA FCS. Last season, Conque led UCA to its first-ever FCS playoff berth.
