NACOGDOCHES - After their second consecutive come-from-behind victory to open league play, the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack football team (4-3/2-0) returns home to host Texas State on Homecoming. The Bobcats (4-3/1-1 SLC) come to Nacogdoches after dropping a 31-24 heartbreaker to No. 13 Central Arkansas. Saturday's game is slated to kick off at 2 p.m. Saturday from Homer Bryce Stadium to accomodate all homecoming festivities on campus.

SFA vs. THE BOBCATS: The Lumberjacks are 29-52-1 (.360) all-time against Texas State. Although the 'Jacks won four of five during the early part of the decade, the Bobcats have regained control of the series winning three of the last four meetings, including 52-29 decision last season in San Marcos. Saturday's game will mark the first time the two teams have met in Nacogdoches since the 2005 season when Texas State recorded a 38-21 victory.

'JACKS ON HOMECOMING: The Lumberjacks are 35-33 (.515) all-time during homecoming dating back to the 1929 season. SFA enters Saturday's contest looking to reverse a downward trend having lost four consecutive homecoming games, and five of the last six. The lone victory during that stretch was a 2003 victory over Texas State, 44-27. The 'Jacks are 5-2 (.714) all-time against Texas State on Homecoming.

THREE CONSECUTIVE: Saturday's win at Nicholls marks the 'Jacks' third consecutive win of the season. It is the team's longest win streak since it posted three-straight victories during the 2005 season. The victory also moved SFA a game over .500 for time since it defeated No. 21 UC Davis to move to 5-4 overall during the 2005 season.

JUST PLAIN OFFENSIVE: The Lumberjacks came into the matchup against Nicholls having scored 48 points in its three previous games, and posted 50 against the Colonels. Earlier in the year SFA scored 56 against Langston, making this the first season in program history the 'Jacks have scored at least 48 points in five games in one year.

FIRST QUARTER NO-SHOWS: During its first two SLC games, someone forgot to tell the SFA football team the game actually begins in the first quarter, and not the second. The 'Jacks fell behind Southeastern Louisiana 28-0 in the opening quarter before rallying to win, and spotted Nicholls a 19-0 first quarter cushion before rallying to take the victory. After being outscored 47-14 in the first 15 minutes of their two conference games, the 'Jacks have rallied to outscore their opponents 63-13 in the final 30 minutes of those games.

THE BATTLE IN THE TRENCHES: Saturday's game will pit a Texas State starting offensive line that averages 6-3, 285 pounds, against a young Lumberjack defensive line that averages 6-3, 254 pounds. The 'Jacks' offensive line enters the game averaging 6-4, 289. The Bobcats' defensive line averages 6-2, 265 pounds.
