Junior Cody Wing shot a career-best 73 in round two and is tied for fifth overall

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Stephen F. Austin had a strong showing through the first two rounds of the Incarnate Word Litz Memorial, sitting atop the leaderboard with an 18-over 594. The Lumberjacks hold a 10-stroke lead on host Incarnate Word heading into Tuesday’s final round.
The ‘Jacks were led by some strong individual performances, as junior Blake Pugh is the leader in the clubhouse after 36 holes, shooting a 2-under 142. Pugh fired a 4-under 68 in round one, one shot off his career-low, followed by a 2-over 74 in round two. He holds a three-stroke lead over junior Bradley Phelps, who sits second among the individual standings with a 1-over 145, highlighted by a 1-under 71 in round one.
Junior Cody Wing, competing as an individual, is tied for fifth in the overall standings with a 7-over 151, including shooting a career-low 73 in round two. Redshirt freshman Baxter Ward and sophomore Major Monzingo are tied for seventh, sitting at 10-over 154, with sophomore Luke Sheehan sitting 14th with a 14-over 158.
Competing against five other schools in the first half of its spring break swing, SFA shot a pair of 9-over 297’s in the afternoon. Pugh’s 68 and Phelps’ 71 were the low rounds of the opening 18 holes with the duo being joined by Monzingo with a 2-over 74 in round two to lead the ‘Jacks.
SFA heads into the final 18 holes with a strong lead over the host Cardinals (28-over 604), vying for its first tournament victory of the season. Incarnate Word’s “B” team (49-over 625) sits third with Murray State College (61-over 637), Our Lady of the Lake (80-over 656) and South Texas College (151-over 727) rounding out the field.
