    LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Stephen F. Austin currently sits in sixth-place among the 14-team field at the Arkansas-Little Rock First Tee Invitational. The Lumberjacks posted a 21-over 597 through the first two rounds of the tournament, sitting five strokes out of a top-five showing.

    SFA opened up the day with a 13-over 301, led by Luke Sheehan’s 1-over 73 and a 2-over 74 by Blake Pugh, and sat tied for fourth-place after the opening 36 holes.

     The ‘Jacks then shaved five strokes off their first round total, posting an 8-over 296 in round two, but slipped two spots to occupy the sixth-spot. Major Monzingo was the top SFA performer in round two, posting a career-best with a 1-under 71.

    Sheehan currently sits atop the SFA scorecard with a 4-over 148 (73-75) and is tied for 14th in the individual standings. Baxter Ward is one shot back of Sheehan with a 5-over 149 (75-74), joining his teammate among the individual top-20 as Ward is tied for 18th overall.

    Pugh and Monzingo fell just outside of the top-20 as the duo is tied for 21st overall with a 6-over 150. Pugh posted a 74-76 through the first two rounds while Monzingo shaved eight strokes off his opening round 79 to card the 71 in round two. Bradley Phelps rounds out the SFA scorecard with a 16-over 160 (79-81).

    SFA holds a comfortable six-stroke lead on both Arkansas State and UT-Martin, who are tied for seventh with a 27-over 603. The ‘Jacks sit five shots back of fifth-place Missouri State (16-over 592) as SFA looks for its fourth top-five finish of the season.

    Louisiana-Monroe currently leads the 14-team field, shooting an 8-over 584 through the first two rounds and holding a two-stroke lead on Southland Conference rival McNeese State (10-over 586). Sam Houston State sits third (12-over 588) with Lipscomb (14-over 590) and Missouri State rounding out the top-five.

    Tuesday’s final round gets underway with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. as SFA will be teamed up with both Lipscomb and Missouri State in the final round pairings. Full results will be available at as they become available.
