'Jacks Finish Second at UALR

The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf team carded the second-lowest round of the day to climb one more place finishing second at the UALR/First Tee Classic in Little Rock, Ark. SFA fired a 322-296-299 - 917 on the 7,326-yard, par-72 Chenal Country Club Course. SFA fell short of the team title by six strokes.
Senior Mitchell McLeroy continued his climb in the standings after a tough opening round. He carded a one-over 73 to finish tied for second with a three-round 228. Freshman Luke Sheehan finished the day four strokes back of McLeroy in a tie for 14th place.
Sophomore Blake Pugh carded an 82-73-78 - 233 to finish tied for 17th with freshman Major Monzingo (79-81-73 - 233). Freshman Bradley Phelps rounded out the SFA leaderboard with a 234 placing in a tie for 23rd.
The Lumberjacks return to action Monday, April 8, when they travel to McKinney, Texas to compete in the Jim West Intercollegiate.
