Last Time Out SFA notched its first team title since 2012, capturing the 2014 Incarnate Word James Litz Memorial at the Club of Sonterra north course in San Antonio. The ‘Jacks shot a 31-over 895 for the tournament and defeated the host Cardinals by five strokes to bring home the team title. Blake Pugh also became the first individual champion since Mitchell McLeroy in 2012, shooting a 3-over 219, including a 4-under 68 in round one. All six ‘Jacks that competed finished in the top-15, including a fourth-place finish for Bradley Phelps and a career-best seventh-place showing for Major Monzingo.
Looking Ahead After playing in two tournaments in the span of a week, SFA will have a little time off before returning to the course at the Arkansas-Little Rock First Tee Classic on March 24th-25th in Little Rock, Ark. It will be the first of two final tune-up tournaments, leading up to the 2014 Southland Conference Championships in mid-April.
