SFA shot 35 percent from the floor while building its advantage to as many as 24 points in the first half. The Ladyjacks' defense pressure caused problems for Howard Payne throughout the game. The Yellow Jackets were held to seven field goals in the opening half, and never got above 30 percent for the game.
The Yellow Jackets never mounted a serious challenge in the second, pulling within 15 points early in the half but SFA rattled off a 16-4 run to push its advantage to 27 points.
