Ladyjacks Run Over Roadrunners

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks picked up their ninth league win of the season Saturday afternoon knocking off Texas-San Antonio, 62-47, at the Convocation Center. The Ladyjacks improved to 12-5 overall and 9-1 in the Southland Conference.
The Ladyjacks hurt UTSA from the perimeter, hitting five three-pointers led by senior guard Nicole Guild (Flower Mound, Texas), who paced the SFA attack with four triples. She was 4-of-5 (.800 percent) from behind the arc scoring a game-high 14 points. The 14 points were also a new career-high for Nicole. She also pulled down three rebounds and recorded three steals.
The Ladyjacks only led by seven points, 26-17, entering the second half of play but SFA pushed the lead to 18 points with just under eight minutes left. Senior Jessica Guild (Flower Mound, Texas) was one of four Ladyjacks to score in double figures adding 12 points, six rebounds and three assists to the SFA effort. UTSA was able to cut the lead back to 11 behind Nikki Hendrix's 10 points and eight rebounds, but was unable to get any closer.
The Ladyjacks return to action Monday night at Southwest Texas. The game against the Bobcats is slated to tipoff at 7 p.m., Monday night.
