    The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack Basketball team is currently on a 26 home-game winning streak. This streak has landed the Ladyjacks a spot in the national rankings as the third team in the nation for home wins. The Ladyjacks are sitting behind Kent State with 41 wins and Notre Dame with 34 wins. With their 26 home court wins, the Ladyjacks now boast the title of, "Winningest Team in Texas at Home." This streak started last season on March 4, 2000 against Texas-Arlington when SFA won 76-49.

    Continuing their success, the team has also been ranked second in the nation for 16 overall wins (tied with Delaware). Notre Dame is sitting in first with 22 wins (as of 2/13/01).

    In the RPI's, SFA has been ranked 58 as of February 13, 2001. This is a four point improvement from last week.

    WWW.womenscollegehoops.com has placed the Ladyjacks in their poll at 39 in the nation this week. The Ladyjacks have moved up four spots after their wins over Texas-San Antonio and Southwest Texas. According to www.womenscollegehoops.com, "Stephen F. Austin is coming together as usual. The big teams during post season play better watch out."

    The Ladyjacks defeated the Southwest Texas State Bobcats 86-54 in Nacogdoches Saturday, February 10. Royce Chadwick's Ladyjacks are 21-3 overall and 16-0 in Southland Conference play.

    The Ladyjacks were led by sophomore guard Nathesia Wright (Arlington, TX.) with 24 points. Wright shot .571 (8-14) from the field and .857 (6-7) from the free-throw line. She also shot .667 (2-3) from the three-point range. Latisha Prater (Cotton Port, LA.), a junior guard, also scored in double figures with 16 points. Sophomore, forward Amy Collins (San Antonio, TX.) scored her first double-double of her career with 12 rebounds (three offensive and nine defensive) and 14 points.

    As a team the Ladyjacks shot .786 (22-28) from the free-throw line, .444 (4-9) from the three-point range and .476 (30-63) from the field. Under the basket the Ladyjacks accumulated 12 offensive and 30 defensive rebounds.

    The Ladyjacks will be back in action Thursday, February 15, at 7:00 PM in William R. Johnson Coliseum in Nacogdoches, Texas. SFA will be facing the McNeese State Cowgirls. Try to, "Beat the Buzzer," fans. If you arrive 30 minutes before tip-off, you'll receive free admission to the game.
