NACOGDOCHES, Texas -
The Stephen F. Austin men's and women's basketball teams will be hosting Texas State in a Southland Conference doubleheader Saturday at the William R. Johnson Coliseum. The doubleheader will also represent SFA's annual `Take a Kid to the Game' promotion, in addition to several other promotions taking place on game day.
The TAKG program is an NCAA initiative charged with getting children involved in athletics in a family-oriented atmosphere. Children ages 14 and younger will receive free admission to the ball game, free popcorn and $1 hot dogs. There will be a limbo contest at halftime and fans will be entertained by the SFA steel drum band.
Saturday's game will also serve as the Ladyjacks PinkZone game. All fans dressed in pink will receive free admission to the contest, and there will be pink T-shirt giveaways, as well as $200 Double Show for Dough. In addition to the PinkZone contest, Saturday will also be the Samaritan's Feet game. Fans who bring a pair of shoes to donate will also receive free admission.
The Ladyjacks will open the doubleheader at 2 p.m. Saturday, and the game will be televised on the SLC Television Network. The Lumberjacks' will follow at 4:30 p.m.
