NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks basketball team is set to play two games this weekend at the David Jones Memorial in Houston. SAF (2-3) opens the tournament hosted by the Houston Cougars at noon on Saturday when the Ladyjacks take on Prairie View A&M (0-3). On Sunday, SFA will face the Kent State Golden Flashes (1-4) at 1 p.m. from Hofheinz Pavillion.

Ladyjacks Close Strong To Beat Prairie View, 62-55
The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks closed the final three minutes of regulation on an 11-5 run to propel themselves to a 62-55 victory on the road against Prairie View A&M Tuesday evening at the William Nicks Building.
The Ladyjacks head into the weekend leading the Southland Conference in blocks per game averaging 4.2 per game. SFA has posted six or more blocks twice so far this season, including a season-high of eight at Arizona.
Prairie View A&M is coming off an 88-37 loss on the road to Florida State that saw the Panthers commit 28 turnovers. Kent State has lost its last four contests after opening the season with a win.
Last season, the Ladyjacks defeated Prairie View A&M on the road 62-55, and this will be the first meeting between SFA and Kent State.
