Ladyjacks Game Notes: at No. 16 Oklahoma State

FOR STARTERS: The Ladyjacks have hit the middle of their six-game road trip and will face the No. 16 Oklahoma State Cowgirls for the first time in school history on Thursday, Dec. 6 at 7 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT: Kamiya Burwell made a game-winning layup with two seconds remaining to give Grambling State a 64-63 victory over the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks women's basketball team Saturday evening at Fred Hobdy Assembly. SFA (4-3) held a lead as big as seven points midway through the second half but Grambling State's Joanna Miller spearheaded a Lady Tigers comeback with nine second half points en route to a team-high 19 points. Porsha Roberts had her third consecutive double-digit scoring performance with a game-high 20 points on 8-of-10 shooting.
THE COWGIRLS: Oklahoma State is redhot to start the season having won six straight and are winning by an average of nearly 36 points per game during that stretch. Sophomore forward Liz Donohoe leads the Cowgirls in scoring at 18.7 PPG followed by senior forward Toni Young at 17.2 PPG. The Cowgirls are averaging 90.3 points a game as a team, the second-best mark in the country.

ROBERTS AMONG THE NATION'S BEST: With another dominant performance sophomore center Porsha Roberts moved amongst the nation’s best in field goal percentage. The Waco, Texas native is now 12th in the country in FG% (.617) following a 20-point, 8-of-10 from the field performance at Grambling. Roberts has scored in double-figures in 5 of her 7 games this season and has already matched her freshman mark of three, double-doubles.
BENCH PRODUCTION: The Ladyjacks have dominated the opposing bench as far as point production. SFA leads the season battle 172-114 and have only been outscored twice.
BETTER LATE THAN NEVER: SFA has proven to be a team of two halves in the early going. The Ladyjacks have outscored their opponents 214-211 in the first 20 minutes compared to 279-208 in the second half.
