ARLINGTON, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin women's bowling team sits in eighth place after day one of the Prairie View A&M Invitational. No. 13 SFA (46-25) went 2-3 on the day with both of their wins coming against top-20 ranked teams.
The Ladyjacks (8th- 3485 total pins) began Baker play with an 849-672 loss to No. 7 Arkansas State, followed by a 758-653 defeat to No. 3 Vanderbilt. SFA responded though with victories over No. 14 Norfolk State (741-712) and No. 20 Alabama State (706-631) before dropping the final match of the afternoon to No. 1 Central Missouri, 754-713.
Arkansas State leads the tournament after day one with 4047 total pins, followed by Vanderbilt (4028) and Nebraska (3898).
