ARLINGTON, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks bowling team opened the 2011 season Saturday with a dual match against Sam Houston State at the International Bowling Training and Research Center.
The Ladyjacks fell 977-887 in the opening traditional game and 1182-1056 in a six-game Baker match. In the six Baker sets SFA’s totals were 172, 186, 186, 164, 171 and 188 for an average score of 177.83 while SHSU bowled scores of 212, 173, 193, 198, 224 and 182.
Junior Ashli Rosenkranz led the Ladyjacks in the first match with 216 total pins, followed by freshman Chelsea King (179), junior Madison Williams (166), junior Sierra Gibbons (163) and sophomore Nicole Parkhurst (163).
The Ladyjacks will return to action on Oct. 28 for the Greater Ozark Invitational. The three-day tournament will be held in Springfield, Mo.
