VALPARAISO, In. – The No. 9 Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks finished Saturday with a 3-3 record in match play at the Valparaiso Crusader Classic.
SFA (26-10) defeated Elmhurst 926-840 during match one. The Ladyjacks followed with losses to McKendree (933-893) and No. 8 Wisconsin-Whitewater (968-968). Wisconsin-Whitewater took match three in a roll-off, to break the tie.
The Ladyjacks finished the day in strong fashion, bouncing back to wins over Alma (930-822) and No. 2 Vanderbilt (1028-1012).
Sophomore Melanie Crawford was SFA’s top performer in day two. Crawford bowled in all five matches for the Ladyjacks, ending the day with a 1,004 pinfall and 200.8 game average.
Freshman Paige Kraushaar and Senior Nicole Parkhurst also competed in all five matches for the Ladyjacks. Kraushaar finished with a 965 pinfall and 193 game average. Parkhurst recorded a 191.4 game average with a total pinfall of 957.
SFA will look to move up the leaderboard during tomorrow’s final day of the Crusader Classic.
