Bowling Competes in USBC Team USA Trials

LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Four current and one future Stephen F. Austin bowlers continue competition at the 2014 USBC Team USA Trials in Las Vegas, vying for spots on both the USA National and Junior National Teams. The five-day event began Saturday, January 4th, and runs through Wednesday, January 8th.
Through the first two rounds of competition, senior Nicole Parkhurst has notched an impressive showing for the Ladyjacks, currently sitting ninth out of 105 competitors in the women's division. After sitting 26th after day one with a 199.17 average, Parkhurst placed seventh in day two, averaging 206.17 over six games, boasting a 202.67 average through 12 games, including a high of 233.
Freshman Paige Krushaar currently sits 52nd overall with a 188.03 average, highlighted by 44th-place showing on day two. Sophomore Melanie Crawford sits 61st overall with a 187.42 average, followed by freshman Kiara Grant at 65th (184.42). SFA signee Kelsi Anderson is also competing in the trials, sitting 94th with a 178.66 average.
The four current Ladyjacks is the most the program has sent to the event as the fifth-ranked Ladyjacks continue to build on a successful beginning to the 2013-14 season. Monday's women's competition gets underway at 3:45 p.m. CST.
