    Opening Frame
    Stephen F. Austin returns to the lanes this weekend, making the trek to eastern Pennsylvania to compete in the 2014 Kutztown Invitational in Reading, Pa. Hosted by Kutztown University, the three-day event gets underway Friday, January 24th, and wraps up Sunday, January 26th.

    Tournament Information
    The 2014 Kutztown Invitational gets underway Friday at 10 a.m. CT as the teams will compete in six four-game baker matches. Saturday's competition begins at 8:30 a.m. CT as the Ladyjacks will go head-to-head in six traditional games, leading up to Sunday's finale which features three best-of-seven baker matches, getting underway at 8:30 a.m. CT.

    Participating Teams
    This weekend's tournament will be one of the most competitive of the season as SFA is one of 28 teams decending on eastern Pennsylvania. Including the fourth-ranked Ladyjacks, 15 of the top-20 schools in the NTCA Media Poll will be present, including second-ranked Maryland Eastern Shore, Fairleigh Dickinson (5th), Wisconsin-Whitewater (7th), Vanderbilt and Kutztown (T-8th). Nine of the 10 teams that comprise the 11th-20th spot on the poll will be in attendance as well, with 16th-ranked Alabama State the lone exception.

    SFA Against The Field
    With the largest competitor field of the season to day, the Ladyjacks will get their first look at a handful of schools. SFA has gone head-to-head against 11 of the Kutztown Invitational competitors, posting a XX-XX record in those meetings, meaning 16 teams will be seeing the Ladyjacks for the first time in 2013-14.

    SFA Travel Squad
    Once again, nine bowlers will represent the Ladyjacks over the weekend, led by seniors Sierra Gibbons, Whitney McCoy and Nicole Parkhurst. Junior Chelsea King, sophomores Melanie Crawford and Danielle Lynn and freshmen Kiara Grant, Paige Kraushaar and Brianna Newton will round out the SFA travel party.

    Last Time Out
    SFA opened up the calendar year with a fifth-place showing at the Mid-Winter Invitational in Joneboro, Ark., last weekend. The fifth-ranked Ladyjacks ended the three-day tournament with an 8-4 mark, going 2-3 Friday, posting a perfect 4-0 record Saturday before ending with a 2-1 record Sunday in the best-of-seven series. SFA notched four victories over top-20 teams, including a pair of wins over eighth-ranked Vanderbilt.

    Looking Ahead
    Following this weekend's tournament in Reading, Pa., the Ladyjacks will be right back in action as SFA competes in the Prairie View A&M Invitational next weekend. Being held in Arlington, the three-day event opens up Friday, January 31st and runs through Sunday, February 2nd.
