    NASHVILLE, TN - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks bowling team placed ninth in the 2012-13 NTCA Final National Poll on Tuesday, marking the highest finish in school history.

    SFA, who finished the season with a 68-41 overall record, improved upon their 10th place ranking from last year. Division I teams finishing in the top 10 received Capital One Cup points for their finish. 

    NCAA champion Nebraska topped the final poll conducted by the National Ten Pin Coaches Association, the official poll of collegiate bowling.
    The Huskers defeated Vanderbilt in the national championship game April 13 in Canton, Mi., to win 20 points toward the Capital One Cup. Vanderbilt moved up three spots finishing second in the final poll, followed by Maryland-Eastern Shore, fresh off its USBC Collegiate Championship. Arkansas State remained in fourth for third consecutive poll.
    Central Missouri placed fifth in the final poll after holding the top spot much of the year. Fairleigh Dickinson moved two spots to sixth; while Sam Houston State was seventh and Wisconsin Whitewater eighth mirroring their finishes at the NCAA Championships. Tenth place Adelphi maintained their position from the April poll. 

    The Ladyjacks closed the 2012-13 campaign with a seventh place finish at the 2013 xbowling Intercollegiate Team Championships, going 2-2 overall in competition.

    SFA will return seven student-athletes from this year's squad for the 2013-14 season.
