    Ladyjacks Eight After Day One

    BLANCO, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin women's golf team fired an opening-round 338 on the 5,994-yard, par 72 course at Vaaler Creek Golf Club in Blanco, Texas,Monday morning and is currently eighth overall heading into the second round of the Southland Conference Women's Golf Championships.

    Junior Allison Flake is setting the tone for SFA after day one, with an opening round 81. Flake is currently tied for 23rd overall. Classmate Chelsea Simmons is only two strokes back of Flake with an opening-round 83. Simmons is currently tied for 28th after the first 18 holes.

    Sara Jones and Rose Henderson recorded an 87 are currently tied for 35th. Aliece Anderson struggled on the opening day of the championships with a 19-over par 91 and is 40th overall.

    The Ladyjacks return to action Tuesday at 8 a.m. for the second round of action.
