Ladyjacks Fall Three on Final Day at ORU

TULSA, Okla. - The Stephen F. Austin women's golf team fell three spots on the final day of competition, firing a 316-314-331 - 961 to finish 12th Tuesday, in the ORU Shootout, presented by Bob Hurley Auto Family, at the Meadowbrook Country Club Course.
The Ladyjacks were led by junior Aliece Anderson, who fired a 79 in her final round to finish in a three-way tie for 14th place on the 6,120-yard, par-71 course. The Kingwood native, shot a 233 combined score over two days, finishing just two strokes out of the top-10.
Freshman Julia Bazaldua and senior Chelsea Simmons recorded respective finishes, carding within three strokes of each other to take 28th (79-77-82 -238) and 37th (76-79-86 - 241) overall for SFA. Bazaldua and Simmons each fired the worst round of the tournament, carding an 82 and 86, the only round over 80 for either Ladyjack, on the final day.
Junior Rosie Henderson took an 86 in her final round to finish 59th (80-85-86 - 251) followed by junior Sara Jones who carded her round-best 84 to take 65th-place (86-85-84 - 255) and round out the Ladyjack lineup.
SFA returns to action Monday, Oct. 15, at the Lady Red Wolf Invitational in Jonesboro, Ark.
