SFA soccer announces dates for summer camps.
Feb. 27, 2014
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin head soccer coach Wally Crittenden announced dates for his summer slate of Soccer Camps at SFA on Thursday morning.
Crittenden will offer four camps this summer for young soccer players to choose from on. Each of these camps will see elements from the Ladyjack's training habits and priorities contributing to a successful defense of their 2012 Southland Conference Championship in the 2013 season resulting in back-to-back-to-back conference championships for the first time in the conference's soccer history.
The 2014 summer programming slate consists of the following camps:
Goalkeeper Residential Camp (June 26 - 29, 2014): For co-ed goalkeepers, between the ages of 12 and 18, looking for a combination of position specific training as well as live situational play, with matching curriculums to the field player residential camp being held simultaneously. Goalkeepers will learn from current goalkeepers and coaches responsible for a record-setting season defensively for the SFA.
Elite Field Player Residential (June 26-29, 2014): For co-ed field players, between the ages of 12 and 18, looking for a dynamic curriculum that values possession and well-balanced attacks. The field players will learn from current players and coaches responsible for one of the highest performing and well-balanced attacks in the region this past season.
Summer Day Camp (July 7-11, 2014): For co-ed soccer players, between the ages of five and 10, looking for a well-organized and dynamic learning environment that will help inspire and improve the recreational player. Campers will be taught by current players and coaches in the morning and will have a snack provided, as well as visit the SFA Recreational Center and its outdoor swimming pool.
Academy Day Camp (July 7-11, 2014): For co-ed soccer players, between the ages of nine and 13, looking for a dynamic and high-level training environment meant to bridge the gap between the recreational level Summer Day Camp and the Residential Camps. Campers will participate in two training sessions each day and will be coached by current players and coaches according to higher-level principles of play.
