NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Head Coach of the Stephen F. Austin Soccer team, Wally Crittenden is pleased to annouce the addition of Kenedy Rose to the Ladyjacks' 2017 roster. Rose has recently signed her scholarship award letter and will be joining the 13-time SLC Champion Ladyjack Soccer team this fall. She comes to SFA from the Big East Conference member Xavier and will look to make her impact on the midfield or on the back line.
Rose played one year at Xavier where she appeared in 18 games and started 12 of those at the midfield position. She totaled over 1,068 minutes, recording five shots on the season. Rose played a season-high 90 minutes in a 1-0 verdict over Villanova and tallied a pair of shots against IUPUI.
Prior to Xavier, Rose competed at Tyler Junior College, collecting over 30 wins during her time there. She earned spots on the NJCAA All-Regional Team, the National Tournament All-Tournament Team, as well as the NJCAA All-American Team. Rose was later named an NSCAA All-American in 2015.
Coach Crittenden’s thoughts on Kennedy: “Kennedy is someone I had the chance to watch play and get to know over the last year and I am thrilled she has chosen to join our program here at SFA. We have a very talented roster heading into the 2017 season and there is no doubt that Kennedy will push our level of expectation even higher. With her experience playing at a very high collegiate level, her elite athleticism, and strong competitive character, I expect Kennedy to fit right in to our Trenches Unit upon arriving on campus. I am really excited to welcome Kennedy and her family to our Ladyjack Soccer Family of Champions.”
SFA will be hosting their alumni game this Saturday, April 22, in Homer Bryce Stadium at 11:00 am.
