Ladyjacks Continue Homestand
Sept. 18, 2003
NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team will put its four-game win streak on the line Friday night against Texas Tech. The game against the Lady Raiders is scheduled to get under way at 7 p.m. at the SFA Intramural Complex.
Offensive Ladyjacks Since starting the season with consecutive 5-0 losses at Tulsa and Oral Roberts, the Ladyjacks have turned things around in a big way. The Ladyjacks have outscored their opponents, 14-6, in the last four games including one shutout. Sophomore Kendra Cannon is leading the offensive onslaught for SFA with a team-high 10 points, four goals and two assists.
Record-Setter Sophomore goalkeeper Natascia Michalezki recorded a monster night against Texas-El Paso. She set a school-record with her 24 saves in the win over UTEP. Despite the fact that the game went into double overtime, no asterisk will be placed by Michalezki's name in the SFA record books, because she broke the record during regulation.
POWs The Ladyjacks have been racking up the individual honors during their current four-game win streak. Sophomore goalkeeper Natascia Michalezki has won two consecutive Southland Conference Goalkeeper of the Week awards. Sophomore Kendra Cannon is the reigning SLC Offensive Player of the Week, while sophomore Kim Gray received league defensive player of the week honors last week.
