FRISCO, Texas - Following a weekend in which the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks defeated Southeastern Louisiana and Oral Roberts by a combined score of 10-0, sophomores Zuri Prince and Megan Dunnigan were recognized as the Southland Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Prince had one of the best weeks of her young career after scoring three goals and adding one assist for a total of seven points in 5-0 wins against both Southeastern Louisiana and Oral Roberts. Prince, a Beaumont, Texas (Kelly H.S.), native, scored her fourth and fifth goals of the season against Oral Roberts. Her second assist of the season also came against the Golden Eagles.
Dunnigan helped anchor a Stephen F. Austin defense that pitched together its eighth and ninth shutouts of the season. The Ladyjacks' defense allowed only seven total shots with only four shots on goal in two matches. The sophomore from Round Rock, Texas (Vista Ridge H.S.), broke up several scoring opportunities while keeping the SFA backline strong.
SFA (9-3-0, 2-0-0) will be back in action this Friday when they travel to Central Arkansas followed by a Sunday afternoon match at Northwestern State on Sunday.
