FRISCO, Texas - Two days after tying the school's all-time career points record, Stephen F. Austin senior midfielder Kylie Louw was recognized for her efforts by being named the Southland Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week, according to a league release on Tuesday. This marks the second time this season that Louw has been named the SLC Offensive POW.
Louw, who shared the conference honor with Oral Roberts' Jennifer Abernathy, scored a goal and added an assist in the Ladyjacks 2-0 victory at McNeese State last Sunday. By collecting three points, Louw, who hails from Discovery, South Africa (Tuks Combined School), tied SFA’s Amanda Alders’ all-time school record in career points with 91. Louw leads the conference with 10 assists, which also ranks fourth nationally.
Louw and the Ladyjacks will host their final two home matches of the 2012 season this weekend, starting Friday at 7 p.m. against Piney Woods rival Sam Houston State, followed by a Sunday 1 p.m. showdown against Lamar on Senior Day.
Louw is one of six seniors will play their final home match against the Lady Cardinals, including Becky Johnson, Laura Sadler, Leslie Shurtleff, Abby Susman and Breanne Vernon.
