A strong north wind blowing out to left-center aided Southwest Texas in game two as the Bobcats exploded for eight home runs off SFA pitching. CF Kristen Zaleski and third baseman Frances Mendoza had two home runs each as Southwest Texas beat the 'Jacks 14-1 in game two.
Devin Cobb made the start and lasted only an inning and a third, giving up six runs on five hits. Kristin Nolan came on in relief and allowed eight more runs on seven hits.
SFA did push a run across in the fifth inning when Kacie Lancaster picked up her third hit of the afternoon to lead off the inning. She was forced at second on a fielder's choice by B.J. Cruff. Cruff later scored in the inning on an RBI single off the bat of Sarah Stone.
The teams wrap up the three game series Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. with a single game.
