SFA picked up its third conference win of the season Monday afternoon with a 1-0 win over UT-Arlington. The 'Jacks dropped the second game of the doubleheader by a 4-1 count as the two teams made up two of the three scheduled games washed out by rains over the weekend.
Brooke Chandler drove home the game's only run in the top of the fifth inning, as Kacie Rees scored to put SFA up, 1-0. The 'Jacks managed only two hits in the game, singles by Ragen Rutherford and Meryl McGuire, but did get the run home in the fifth for the game winner.
Traci Moore (4-16) worked seven innings, not giving up a run on seven hits.
Moore took the loss in the second game of the doubleheader allowing four runs in 1.0 plus innings of work. UT-Arlington scored two runs int he first inning and two more in the second inning and held on for the win. Only two fo the runs were earned.
Devin Cobb came on in relief of Moore working five innings, allowing two hits, striking out one and not walking a batter.
Erica Henrion led the way at the plate in game two with a pair of hits. She also scored the only run for the 'Jacks in the fifth inning.
SFA returns to action Wednesday in Ruston, Louisiana as they take on Louisiana Tech.
