    NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks softball team returns home to host the Lamar Lady Cardinals tomorrow in the first conference home series of the season, beginning with a doubleheader that begins at 1 p.m.

    SFA (6-17, 0-3) has lost four straight games and eight of nine overall entering play on Saturday. The Ladyjacks are coming off a tough roadtrip to Arkansas where they dropped their first three conference games of the season at Central Arkansas before suffering a 9-2 loss against the Arkansas Razorbacks.

    Lamar (11-15, 2-1) has lost three of their past four contests but did manage to win their first Southland Conference series of the season by winning two out of three at Nicholls. The Lady Cardinals are batting. 260 as a team and are led by junior outfielder Candyce Carter, who leads Lamar with a .370 average, 27 hits, eight doubles, four home runs and 12 RBI. Lamar's pitching staff is anchored by junior Shannon Millman, who boasts a 6-5 record and 3.47 ERA and has struck out 49 batters in 84.2 innings of work. 

    SFA and Lamar will close out the series on Sunday at 1 p.m. before playing the next four games on the road at Louisiana Tech (1) and Nicholls State (3).
