    NACOGDOCHES, Texas - After six days away from the diamond, the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks softball team returns to action this weekend when they travel to Lake Charles, La. for a three-game series against first place McNeese State. 

    SFA (11-22, 4-8) and McNeese (27-9, 8-2) will play a Saturday doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. followed by the series finale on Sunday at 1 p.m.

    Ladyjacks Sweep Doubleheader From Cowgirls
    The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks' offense came alive and Carlie Thomas earned two victories in the circle in an impressive doubleheader sweep over second-place McNeese State Monday afternoon at the SFA Softball Field.

    The Ladyjacks have lost four of their last five games and are led by junior shortstop Elizabeth Arana, who leads the team with a .355 average, eight doubles, two triples and 16 RBI. Junior pitcher Carlie Thomas leads SFA with an 8-10 record and a 3.28 ERA, 112.1 innings pitched and 94 strikeouts.

    The Cowgirls have three players batting over .300 with junior outfielder Alanna DiVittorio leading the team with a .373 average.  DiVittorio also leads the team with 35 runs scored, eight doubles, a .747 slugging percent and a .523 on base percent and 26 walks.  She is also tied for a team high 10 stolen bases.
    Freshman first baseman Emily Vincent is batting .370 and leads the team with 35 RBI and eight home runs.  Vincent is second on the team with a .717 slugging percent, 34 hits and 23 runs scored.

    The Cowgirls are led in the circle by senior Meagan Bond and freshman Jamie Allred. Bond leads the team with a 1.31 ERA and 117 strikeouts in 96.0 innings pitched and enters the weekend with a 12-3 record, having won 10 of her last 11 games. She ranks third in the nation in walks allowed per seven innings with 0.66.  

    Allred has a 13-3 record with a 1.49 ERA and leads the Cowgirls with 103.1 innings pitches with 106 strikeouts and has won eight of her last nine games.
