PLANO, Texas - Seniors Lee Lara and Carrie Woydziak were named to the first and third All-Southland Conference softball teams, respectively, announced league officials Wednesday afternoon. It was the first time Lara was awarded the honor, and the third straight year for Woydziak.
Lara was second on the team with a .338 batting average and 34 RBI. She also collected eight home runs on the year putting her in the number two spot for home runs in a season at SFA.
Woydziak led the team with a .340 batting average, 33 runs scored off of 53 hits, and was 15-of-17 in stolen bases. Woydziak broke the hits and triples career records in her four years at SFA and was second in runs scored.
The duo were preseason All-SLC selections and were the only members of the Ladyjack softball team to start all 48 games this season, leading SFA to a 20-28 overall record and a 9-15 SLC mark.
