First Season

Alma Mater:

In just her first season with the Stephen F. Austin women's tennis team, assistant coach Stephanie Wooten helped SFA reach new heights. The 'Jacks set a program-best 23-4 record on their way to the program's first-ever Southland Conference regular-season and tournament titles, as well as earning the program's first berth in the NCAA Championships. Following the season, a program-best six players received All-SLC honors, including four first-team selections.

Wooten comes to SFA from Lee College, where she served as the head coach and led the Rebels to a runner-up finish in 2011 NJCAA Championships, finishing only four points shy of the national title. Wooten and the Rebels led the nation in All-Americans placing three of its players on the NJCAA Division I All-America squad.

Prior to her coaching experience, Wooten, a native of Crandall,Texas, was a four-time Texas Class 3A state champion and was named the Dallas Morning News High School Player of the Year in both 2002 and 2004. Wooten was a four-year letterman at Purdue, where she played No. 1 singles and doubles and posted 116 combined wins during her career. During her senior season in 2009 she recorded 41 wins, and placed sixth on Purdue's all-time single-season doubles' wins list.
