    THIBODAUX, La. – The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team dropped their second match in as many days, falling 5-2 to Nicholls State on Sunday at Colonel Tennis Complex. 

    SFA (10-9, 6-4 SLC), which dropped a 7-0 decision on Saturday at McNeese State, was limited to two wins against the Colonels (12-7, 5-4 SLC) in singles play, with sophomore Valeria Terentyeva and senior Julia Lorca picking up victories. Terentyeva picked up a 6-0, 7-5 triumph over NICH’s Kateryna Nakonechna in No. 3 singles and Lorca won 6-4, 6-2 over Klara Skopac in No. 4 singles.

    The Ladyjacks dropped consecutive 8-5 decisions in doubles, as freshmen Denise Maxl and Andrea Ternera, junior Malena Gordo, senior Laura Servise, all dropped contested matches in singles. Gordo picked up a 6-1 victory over No. 102 Stephanie Barnett in No. 2 singles, but fell in three sets. Servise also fell in three sets.

    SFA will now return to Nacogdoches for two matches to close out the regular season. The Ladyjacks will host Sam Houston State on Friday, April 18, before taking on Lamar in the regular season finale on April 19.
