DENTON, Texas - The Ladyjack tennis team made some headway on Saturday, picking up several singles wins in the second day of the Mean Green Invitational.
After picking up a first-round win on Friday, sophomore Roxana Enica picked up a win over Army's Kristin Beehler in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3; however, she ran in to Texas Tech's Simone Templeton who disposed of Enica 6-2, 6-3.
In the consolation bracket, freshman Sanjana Kapur had to go to a tie breaker but picked up her first career win over Tyler's Bethania Van der Laan, 6-3, 7-6, 7-6(4).
Another freshman, Andreea Enica, also found success after a first-round bye. She picked up her first career win also over Tyler's Kelly Rittenhouse, 6-1, 6-0.
The Ladyjacks will conclude the Mean Green Invitational on Sunday.
