Wooten Steps Down as SFA Tennis Coach

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin head tennis coach Stephanie Wooten has resigned to pursue other career opportunities Director of Athletics Robert Hill announced Friday morning. Wooten just completed her second season in Nacogdoches, and her first as head coach.
"We are very appreciative of Stephanie's hard work as head coach," said Hill. "She helped guide our tennis squad to its first Southland Conference Championship and NCAA tournament appearance. We will always acknowledge her efforts for the success she helped bring to SFA."
The Ladyjacks went 33-18 (.647) during Wooten's two seasons in Nacogdoches, including a 15-6 (.714) mark in Southland Conference play. The youthful SFA squad closed out the 2013 campaign with a 10-13 (.769) record. Wooten came to SFA from Lee College, where she served as the head coach guiding the Rebels to a 2011 NJCAA runner up finish.
