NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Junior Jill Ivy recorded 14 kills, but the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team fell 3-1 (28-26, 14-25, 15-25, 12-25) to Oral Roberts Tuesday night inside Shelton Gym.
SFA (16-14, 8-9 SLC) dropped its second and final match against the Golden Eagles (20-6, 12-4 SLC) of the season to even the all-time series 2-2. The Ladyjacks took both meetings in 2012.
Ivy was the only representative of SFA to finish in double-figure kills, as the Ladyjacks were held to a .079 attack percentage across four sets. Freshman Justice Walker narrowly missed joining Ivy, finishing with nine.
Junior setter Paige Holland recorded 29 assists, while libero OJ Olson led the back line with 20 digs. Olson was one of two SFA players to record double-digit digs, joined by junior Madison Martin (10).
Walker led the Ladyjacks’ presence at the net, recording six blocks, as SFA finished with six as a team.
The opening set saw 17 ties and five lead changes, before the Ladyjacks claimed a 28-26 edge. Unfortunately, it would be their only set taken on the night, as they dropped the next three to fall 3-1.
SFA, still in the hunt for the Southland Conference Tournament, will close out the regular season against Northwestern State at 1:00 p.m. Nov. 16 on Senior Day. Senior Leslie Jackson and Amanda Rister will be recognized before the match.
