‘Jacks Fall to No. 5 Huskies in First Round of SLC Tournament

NEW ORLEANS, La.- The Stephen F. Austin beach volleyball team (20-13) earned the No. 4 seed in the Southland Conference Tournament and drew a first-round matchup against the No. 5 seed Houston Christian Huskies (13-18).

HCU secured their first point with their 4s before SFA's 2s tied it up. The Huskies won the 3s before the 'Jacks responded by winning the 5s. It all came down to the 1s where HCU secured an intense 26-24 first set before running away with a 21-14 second set to secure a 3-2 match win.

4. Tatum Lockhardt/Alexa Landmark (HCU) def. Kylie Golden/Ashley Boswell (SFA) 19-21, 21-17, 15-13
5. Jennah Atchley/Victoria Simmang (SFA) def. Karla Sanchez George/Taylor Gardner (HCU) 21-19, 21-16

Order of Finish: 4, 2, 3, 5, 1

SFA will play No. 8 New Orleans in an elimination match at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday April 24th.
