
SFA Track & Field Men, Women Earn All-Academic Distinction from USTFCCCA

Both programs carried north of a 3.1 team GPA throughout indoor/outdoor campaigns
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the organization's all-academic teams earlier this week with the Stephen F. Austin Men and Women being honored after both squads carried north of a 3.0 team GPA throughout the indoor and outdoor campaigns.
The Lumberjack Men sent four student-athletes to the NCAA West Regional to cap a season that saw SFA win both the indoor and outdoor league titles. The 'Jacks also took care of business in the classroom as two student-athletes, Riley Elliot and Semion Brodski, were named to the Southland Conference All-Academic Team. The duo was a part of 27 'Jacks to land on the SLC Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll (3.0+ GPA). The SFA Men received the national academic honor after putting together a collective 3.13 team GPA.
The SFA Women logged a pair of top six team finishes across the indoor and outdoor league championships. The 'Jacks boasted a 3.14 team GPA to receive national acclaim from the USTFCCCA. SFA was led in the classroom by Valentine Jemutai who earned a spot on the SLC's All-Academic team. She was also one of 33 SFA Women to receive SLC Commissioner's Spring Honor Roll (3.0+ GPA) distinction.
