The Lumberjacks (1-2) travel to Houston for their final non-conference road game of 2002 as they take on the Tigers of Texas Southern Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. in the H&PE Complex on the Texas Southern campus.
SFA is coming off a home loss to Centenary, 75-69 and hope to even their mark at 2-2 with a win. The 'Jacks have not won a non-conference road game since the 1998 season, a string that has reached ten straight. SFA is 0-7 under Danny Kaspar in non-conference road games.
C Percy Green continues to lead the Lumberjacks in scoring, averaging just under 14 points per night. Green was held to only eight points Tuesday night in the loss to Cetenary. F Antonio Burks is the only other Lumberjack averaging in double figures, adding 12.7 ppg, and is shooting just over 65 percent from the field. Burks is leading a strong contingent of bench players that have made big contributions so far for the Lumberjacks.
Following Saturday night's game at Texas Southern, SFA takes a week off for final exams before returning to action on Dec. 14 when they host Oral Roberts in a 7:30 p.m. tip in the coliseum.
