NACOGDOCHES, Texas- The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks Beach Volleyball Team (5-7, 0-1) gets set to open their 2025 home slate as they host the Axe'Em Invitational this weekend, first squaring off with the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Cru (9-4, 0-0).
Lumberjacks at a Glance:
The Lumberjacks will look to get back in the win column this weekend and start their home schedule for the season on a strong note. The 'Jacks competed in the ULM Bayou Bash last weekend and claimed a pair of wins over the hosting Warhawks but fell twice to the high-powered LSU Tigers, finishing the weekend with a 2-2 record. The 'Jacks will only play at home twice this season as their only other home matches for the season come in April when they host University of Mary Hardin-Baylor for a midweek two-match set, thus the Lumberjacks will look to take advantage of the home court advantage this weekend.
Cru at a Glance:
The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Cru hit the road fresh off hosting the UMH Beach Tournament last weekend that saw the Cru post a 4-1 record over the tournament. All four wins for the Cru came by way of sweep, and they will carry a three-game winning streak into this weekend and will look to build off their 5-1 neutral record this season.
Series:
Friday morning's kickoff to the Axe'Em Invitational will mark the fifth ever meeting between these two programs with SFA leading the series 4-0 to date. The Lumberjacks have recorded sweeps in the previous four meetings and won the most recent meeting last season with a 5-0 win over the Cru, with SFA holding a 3-0 home record against the Cru.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks Beach Volleyball Team (5-7, 0-1) close out competition for the first day of the Axe'Em Invitational against Southland rival McNeese State University (6-4, 1-0).
Cowgirls at a Glance:
The McNeese State University Cowgirls will be looking to get back in the win column this weekend as they competed in The Lion's Den Invitational last week and were unable to come away with a win over two games. Prior to the Invitational last week, the Cowgirls had strung together five consecutive wins and will look to build on their 6-4 record this season.
Series:
The Lumberjacks final game of the opening day of the Axe'Em Invitational will see these two Southland foes meet for the third all-time meeting. SFA has won the previous two meetings including the most recent one last season when they claimed a 4-1 home victory over the Cowgirls, as they hold a 2-0 home record against McNeese.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks Beach Volleyball Team (5-7, 0-1) opens up play for the second day of the Axe'Em Invitational against the Texas A&M University-Kingsville Javelinas (10-2, 0-0).
Javelinas at a Glance:
The Texas A&M University-Kingsville Javelinas have been rolling as of late as they have rattled off six straight wins and will carry not only a six-game winning streak into the Axe'Em Invitational but also a 10-2 overall record. The Javelinas competed in the UMHB Spring Splash last week and came away from the tournament with a perfect 4-0 record with a pair of 5-0 wins and a pair of 4-1 wins.
Series:
The Lumberjacks open up day two of the Axe'Em Invitational with the 12th all-time meeting against the Javelinas. The Javelinas hold a 7-4 all-time record over the Lumberjacks and won the most recent meeting last year when they defeated SFA 3-2 on the road. SFA holds a 1-2 all-time home record against the Javelinas.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas- - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks Beach Volleyball Team (5-7, 0-1) closes out play at the Axe'Em Invitational against the Sam Houston State University Bearkats (1-7, 0-0).
Bearkats at a Glance:
The Sam Houston State Bearkats will look to carry over their momentum from their first win of the season two weeks ago in the Cowgirl Beach Bash. The Bearkats posted a clean 5-0 sweep over the Nicholls State University Colonels in their final game of the tournament to claim their first win of the season, as they get set to compete in their third tournament of the year this weekend.
Series:
The concluding match of the Longhorn Invitational will see SFA battle the Bearkats in the first ever meeting on the sand courts.
